useful_faqЯ абсолютный профан в вопросах зороастризма, вопрос мой возник по служебной надобности: я перевожу некий текст с английского на русский (он не имеет отношения к зороастризму), и там есть фрагмент из "Авесты".
Обычно, когда я встречаю в тексте цитаты из знаменитых текстов, я стараюсь не переводить их, а искать соответствующие фрагменты в уже сделанных, опубликованных переводах. Так я попыталась сделать и в этот раз - и обнаружила, что английский фрагмент довольно сильно отличается от русского, из перевода Стеблина-Каменского. Тогда как, например, в аналогичных ситуациях с Библией фрагменты совпадают почти тютелька в тютельку.
Итак, "мой" фрагмент: “On the approach of a dire winter, which is to destroy every living creature, Yima, being advised by Ahura, builds a Vara to keep there the seeds of every kind of animals and plants, and the blessed live there a most happy life under his rule. Thither thou shalt bring the seeds of every kind of tree, of the greatest, best, and finest kinds on this earth; thither thou shalt bring the seeds of every kind of fruit, the fullest of food and sweetest of odour. All those seeds shalt thou bring, two of every kind, to be kept inexhaustible there, so long as those men shall stay in the Vara”.
