.avi не читается?

Скачала ослом файл .avi.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

А что за кодек - в properties ничего не говорится. Все кодеки перепробовала - не помогает.

Что бы это могло бы быть?

Всем спасибо, помог совет slim_sh4d3. Файл открылся Media Player Classic.

Попробуйте открыть его с помощью Media Player Classic. Он идет в поставке с паками разных кодеков и т.д.
