.avi не читается?

Скачала ослом файл .avi.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

А что за кодек - в properties ничего не говорится. Все кодеки перепробовала - не помогает.

Что бы это могло бы быть?

Всем спасибо, помог совет slim_sh4d3. Файл открылся Media Player Classic.

Все что не открывается ВинМедиа, у меня успешно открывает VLC media player.

Аналогично :) Забодалась разбираться с кодками, поставила VLC media player и с тех пор горя не знаю.
