"Every year I try to remember to send birthday / Christmas presents a friend's son in Ekaterinburg. <...> I'm thinking about sending him a Gameboy Advance as a combined birthday & Christmas present. It isn't cheap, and I don't know about import duty on electronics. <...> Do you know if it's likely to get slapped with import duty? If I just say, vaguely, that it's a "toy" on the customs form, any chance of it getting by? Do you know of any sites I can order from online that ship to Russia? Toys R Us doesn't, and I can't read or speak Russian, unfortunately."

Заранее спасибо.

Да, насколько я знаю, при получении придется заплатить пошлину :(

The custom duty for such device will be at least 20% of its price by catalogue. If Russian custom officer decides that such amount of custom duty is not enough he can raise the duty amount up to 100% of its price. And you never now exactly what amount of custom duty it will be until the package reaches Russian custom. :-(
